The Story

Bananaquit Apartments got its start in 2000 when a British/Trinidadian couple, decided to move to Tobago and start a small hotel.

They named it after the cute yellow breasted sugarbird, which frequents our tropical garden, otherwise known as the Honey sucker or Sucrier.  This friendly little visitor can be easily enticed to your breakfast table with a little fruity invitation.

The convenient location and sincere customer service became popular with visitors to Tobago. Soon, word-of-mouth and recommendations took off and business was booming!

After 12 years of good business, what started out as a hobby was becoming overwhelming.  The couple decided to pass on the reigns of management to their daughter. After 20 years in Sweden and Europe and a wealth of travel experience, she was able to provide a service that both locals and international tourists could appreciate.  Please don’t take our word for it, see for yourself and read the review
